The last time around we saw that if we have love in our hearts ...and if we keep God’s commandments, we have the assurance of answered prayer. We already know that one of the commandments is LOVE.
But this passage also reveals to us that one of the other commandments is not an EXTERNAL ACTION, but an inner act of the HEART. That INNER ACT is FAITH in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
This passage tells us that if we have love and if we have faith, it reveals who we are - children of God. The Spirit of God signs His imprimatur on these 2 defining commandments to bear witness that we are indeed children of God.
