INTRODUCTION
As much as we would like to MASK our FEELINGS in the face of other people, the truth is that when we are ALONE, we can’t help but face the REALITY of feeling OVERWHELMED and even ALONE, most especially with the HORRIBLE REALITIES we are facing today.
BODY SERMON
David was NO STRANGER to such feelings and through this Psalm, he teaches us how to NAVIGATE through these STORMY WATERS in 3 very simple points:
I. DESPERATE PRAYING TO THE LORD vv. 1 – 2
II. CONDITIONS WHICH DROVE DAVID to PRAYER vv. 3 – 4
(A)Feeling of being overwhelmed because of the traps of the enemy v. 3
(B)Feeling of ALONENESS v. 4
III.REASONS to PRAY vv. 5 – 7
(A)Who God is v. 5
(B)What He can do v. 6
(C)What David sees in the Future v. 7
CONCLUSION
The bottomline of this Psalm is quite simple. When FEELING OVERWHELMED and ALONE, RUN to God – He is our portion and our refuge.
