INTRODUCTION

The title suggests that this Psalm was designated for Sabbath worship, so this Psalm likewise would fit worship on the Lord’s day.

New Bible commentary states:

The title says that this is a song for the Sabbath day and its parallel with main themes from Isaiah 58 afrm this: a day of praise (1–3, 14–15) with a central focus on the exalted Lord (8); a day to recognize his holiness and to reafrm our awareness of eternal distinctions between right and wrong (6–7, 9); a day to recall what he has done (4–5) and especially what he has done for us (10–11).

CONCLUSION

After this in-depth study on the NECESSITY of GENUINE and SINCERE WORSHIP, we should be determined to be the worshipers that God wants us to be, knowing that God’s blessings will fall upon us.

Not to worship God has serious consequences not only for the here and now but for the then and there.
